    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: A daughter of Hannah and Richard Maynard, she married to James Forbes Macdonald (1852-1912) in Victoria on 25 Jan 1879; she was 19 and he was 27. In the 1881 Canada census her age is given as 21, occupation, photographer, no doubt an assistant to her mother or father. By 1883 she was living in Seattle, WA, with her husband and two children (Washington Territory 1883 census). She is not listed in the 1891 Canada census. She and her husband, from whom she filed for divorce in Jun 1892, had three sons: Harry Hatherly Macdonald, Maynard Forbes Macdonald and Albert James Macdonald. Harry and Maynard came to live with Richard and Hannah Maynard after their mother died by drowning, a tragic victim of a lovers' triangle. Her portrait appears in a few of her mother's multiple exposure tableaux where she is carrying an umbrella.
