    • STATUS: Commercial.
    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: In his obituary it is noted that he arrived in Iowa and as a "lad" before moving to Fort George in 1909. According to 1921 Canada census, however, he immigrated in 1898 and was naturalized in 1913. He worked as a photographer in Prince George (encompassing the former Fort George and South Fort George) from at least Aug 1910 and into the 1940s (Fort George Herald, 27 Aug 1910, p. 1). W.D. "Wally" West purchased his business in 1946, the year before Simonson's death. Simonson's obituary notes that he had already disposed of negatives before being persuaded to retain some.
