| 2 | 1886 | - 13 Jun 1886: Vancouver's Great Fire destroys much of the city within the area now known as the Gastown district. The photographic firm J.A. Brock & Co. (H.T. Devine) survived the fire and documented the conflagration's aftermath.

According to the Port Moody Gazette (10 Jul 1886, p. 3), "Several artists tried their skill in photographing the excursionists assembled to witness the arrival of the first train on Saturday [sic]."
