    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: The MemoryBC.ca description for the G.H.E. Hudson fonds contains this biographical history:
G.H.E. Hudson arrived in Penticton in 1906 from Scarborough, England, where he had been studying brewing. At the age of 21, his stock in trade being one camera, he began a photography business. With borrowed capital, he bought the camera and apparatus of Mr. Worgan of Aberdeen Studios, Vernon, and the camera and equipment of Mr. Fraser Campbell of Penticton. He moved to Kelowna in 1907, eventually owning the largest business of its kind in the Okanagan Valley, employing four assistants. By 1912, he had also opened a branch of his business in Penticton. Hudson received many commissions from Okanagan cities for panoramic photographs, his specialty. In 1917, Hudson left the Okanagan, having been appointed official photographer to the Canadians[?] stationed in the British Isles.

He enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force in Vernon on 26 Jan 1917 and served in the 30th B.C. Horse Regiment. He was discharged in 1919 and returned to England to live. [10]
