Bruno, then left on Monday, 25 Sep, for Vancouver where he intended relocating his "portrait art studio" from New York City. While in Grand Forks he took photographs, most likely portraits. Bruno was also supposed to "make a tour of the principal cities before permanently settling." According to the Grand Forks newspaper, his initial residence in Vancouver was at the Vancouver Hotel. He was listed as an "artist" with the G.T. Wadds studio in the 1923 Vancouver business directory.
A 22 Jun 1922 Canadian immigration document indicates he had first entered Canada in 1902 at Montreal, QC, then departed Grand Forks, BC, in Apr 1917 for New York City to study art. As his parents became Canadian citizens before he was an adult, he claimed Canadian citizenship as a birthright.
In his 1942 United States petition for naturalization he states he had arrived in the country from Grand Forks, BC, on 6 Nov 1923 and that he was a photographer in Butte, MT. He married his 18-year old bride in Butte, MT, on 21 Dec 1936. While living in the United States during World War One, he registered for its military draft; he also registered for the draft during World War Two.
