  • Notes
    • STATUS: Commercial (assistant); Printer; Commercial.
    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: He began working for S.J. Thompson as an assistant and then followed Thompson to Vancouver when he relocated there in 1897; Easthope was listed as a printer there in 1897. He was listed as a photographer again in New Westminster the following year, but showed up in Vancouver once more in 1899 as a photographer at Thompson's Studio. In Oct 1899 Easthope opened Easthope and Company in Thompson's old studio.

Perhaps after his New Westminster operation failed, Easthope went back to work for S.J. Thompson in Vancouver; by 1903 he was a photographer for Thompson. Easthope relocated to Victoria in the early 1920s.

He also operated as Easthope Studio, the business of which was taken over by Mrs. H.C. Wilkinson in 1931 or 1932.

The 1901 Census of Canada indicates he immigrated to Canada in 1891 with his family and was a Roman Catholic. His father Ernest was a machinist. While the 1931 Canada census indicates he immigrated in 1898, he was already in New Westminster by 1897.
