    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: The daughter of the 7th Duke of Manchester, she married Edward George Villiers (b. 4 Apr 1865), an M.P. in England in 1889. She accompanied her father-in-law Governor-General Lord Stanley, the 16th Earl of Derby, on a visit to Vancouver and Victoria where he dedicated the park that bears his name. One newspaper reported that

      Lady Stanley, who has an amateur photographic outfit, yesterday took views from the [railway] car door.
