    • STATUS: Commercial.
    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: He moved with his family to Walkerton, Ontario, in 1894 and learned photography there from a Mr. Rawe about 1894. He then came to the West Coast and was employed as a picture framer by S.J. Thompson. The List of Voters shows him as photographer. He later ran his own studio, the King Photo Studio, until 1905, then worked in New Westminster and Nanaimo as a photographer. The King Photo Studio was operated for many years by V.V. Vinson and Vinson's widow. King's sister reported that "His first interest was in photography, and he took many portraits and studies of Indians in all parts of Canada."

      According to his death registration record he retired in 1940 and had been self-employed as a photographer for all his working life.
