  STATUS: Commercial (visit). BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: He started in business ca. 1883 and travelled to Alaska to secure views for his stereoscopic publishing business around 1897. Ingersoll did not, however, photograph any aspect of the Klondike gold rush himself; he purchased publication rights to the work of other photographers, including views sold to the Keystone View Company. FORMATS: Stereographs. IDENTIFYING MARKS: stereograph card mount may be imprinted on left side "Ingersoll View Company, St. Paul, Minn., U.S.A." and on right side with a series title; the individual view may also bear a title on the bottom right of the right-eye image or lower right of the card mount.
