  • Notes
    • STATUS: Commercial.
    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: The senior partner of the Shaw Brothers (Shaw Brothers Limited) in Victoria, he moved to Mayne Island and worked there as a photographer in the mid-1920s before moving to the United States where he applied to become a naturalized citizen in 1943. A 1937 U.S. immigration card indicates he had previously resided in New York City between 1917 and 1919. A U.S. 1942 passenger list from Adelaide, Australia, states his last permanent residence was that city; he sailed to San Francisco, CA, from there with his wife, son and daughter on the Goonawarra on 23 Apr 1942. They likely continued on the Canada as his U.S. naturalization states he and his wife immigrated to the U.S. from Vancouver, BC, in October 1942.
