    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: Established by J.W. and T.M. Jones in 1888, the name was changed to Jones and Co. in 1891, according to Dempsey, after the Esquimalt branch studio was destroyed by fire that year. The directories, however, do not show an Esquimalt branch until 1897.
    • IDENTIFYING MARKS: "Jones, Esquimalt, B.C." on front of print mount.
