    • STATUS: Commercial.
    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: In the 1910s he worked as the manager of J. Howard A. Chapman's Vancouver outlet. Based on the 1915 Vancouver business directory listings, it appears he first worked as a photographer at P.L. Okamura's Vancouver studio. In the 1918 Vancouver business directory, this address was home to the Welford Studio. At the time he enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force in Feb 1918 he gave his occupation as "professional photographer." From his personnel file, it appears he spent some time living and/or working in the photographic department at the Polytechnic College in London, Eng., before returning to Canada in 1919. Before striking out on his own around 1922, he was listed as a photographer in Vancouver, BC, with G.T. Wadds.
      He partnered with R.H. Marlow as the Passport Photograph Studio (1928), operated it on his own in 1929-1930, then partnered again with Marlow as Art-O-Camera Studio (1932) and McKenzie and Marlow (1933). He was not listed in the Vancouver business directories between 1935 and 1947. After returning to Vancouver around 1948, he worked independently as a photographer, then by 1950 was employed as a photographer by Stride Studios in New Westminster. He eventually made his home in New Westminster.
