  STATUS: Studio. BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: According to a Sep 1908 newspaper article, Martel's Photo Studio was "in Winnipeg, Los Angeles and Vancouver." The Winnipeg arm was originally established by W.A. Martel (1851-1915) and later operated by one of his sons, W.A. Martel (1875-1958) or Frank A. Martel (1881-?), or a daughter, Isabel Martel (1872-?). The Vancouver branch was managed by J.A. Macfadyen.
