  • Notes
    • STATUS: Commercial.
    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: He worked as a photographer beginning in Oct 1910 in Chilliwack. While in Chilliwack he advertised as Chapman's Studio. In Nov 1913 his studio was impacted by a fire which had apparently started in his darkroom. Late that month he relocated to a site opposite the post office. He advertised in Feb 1914 that he was closing his Chilliwack studio and moving east. He actually moved to Vancouver about 1914 or 1915. He was listed as retired between 1937 and 1939, then again as a photographer, likely an error, in 1940. As his widow was first listed in the 1941 business directory, he likely passed away in either 1940 or 1941. He was married to Minnie Alida Poole (b. 8 Mar 1864-d. 4 Aug 1946) and they had at least two sons, Harry and Escrett. [28, 29]
