R.S. Vickers (1917-2008), who owned this carte-de-visite, was the great-grandson of photographer George Robinson, a contemporary of Craigg's and who had also once operated the Theatre Photographic Gallery.

Created by the Moss Engraving Co., New York, the engraver inserted the photographer into the scene. The engraving was published in Chittenden's Hyda Land and People (1884). The original photograph is BC Archives Visual Records call no. A-02042.

Since the Green Brothers acquired Frederick's stock, it is not surprising that the "N.B." note at the bottom of their cartouce almost entirely matches the wording on one of Dally's cartouches (Green Brothers, BC Archives, Visual Records, Barnard album no. 27, p. 17).
