    • STATUS: Commercial (visit).
    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: An Engish photographer from Sheringham, Norfolk, Olive Edis, whose uncle was president of the Canadian Pacific Railway, obtained a commission to take photographs in Canada in areas through which the rail line passed. During this trip she used Autochrome technology.

      She was a significant portrait photographer and also Britain's first female official war photographer.

    • IDENTIFYING MARKS: Some prints contain her monogram, an "O" surmounting an "E" and joined by a vertical line.
