    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: He is cedited with photographing the departure of the Excelsior from San Francisco on 28 Jul 1897, 12 days after its arrival from the Bering Sea. Cohen credits the photo to G.G. Cantwell and states it is the arrival scene on 16 Jul. F. La Roche published a cropped version of this image as the first in his album.
