    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: A lieutenant on HMS Satellite, he was stationed at Esquimalt and took photos there, in Victoria and on San Juan Island. Some photographs previously credited to F.G. Claudet are now known to be Roche's work and may include some of the earliest photographs of British Columbia First Nations.
