    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: Edward graduated from the MIT engineering school in 1876. He and his brother W.H. worked for their father's Boston, MA, photo studio under the name A.C. Partridge and Sons.

      The two brothers moved to Portland, OR, in 1883 where they opened their own studio. W.H. is supposed to have travelled to southeast Alaska in 1886 and E.J. in 1887.

      W.H. returned to Boston in 1887 and E.J. remained to operate the Portland studio. E.J. sold the business in 1888 and moved to San Francisco where he worked with his brother S.C. in his photo supply company.

      In 1889 E.J. went back to Portland to open a photo supply business. [1]
