    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: A photograph of the mirage known as The Silent City, Glacier Bay, Alaska, was reputedly taken by E.H. Husher, an I.W. Taber & Co. photographer who was visiting the area in July 1889. This image was published in Chapter 10 of Badlam's aptly titled The Wonders of Alaska (1891). R.G. Willoughby also photographed the same mirage, but the landscape depicted in Willoughby's mirage is totally different from the Taber photograph.
