    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: He worked at a variety of occupations in Nelson, the Okanagan Valley and Saskatchewan before settling in Nelson where he operated a retail store (1919-1923), a framing shop (1924-1936) and Allen's Art Shoppe (1937-1969), later the Art Shoppe, from which he sold photographs and gifts. His death registration record indicates his occupation as "photographer and merchant" from which he had retired in 1967 and that he had spent 50 years in this line of work. He was buried in Nelson Memorial Park, Nelson, BC.
