    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: W.H. Boorne opened his studio in Calgary, AB, in 1886 with the help of his cousin Ernest Gundry May. The studio was known as Boorne and May and branches were established at Banff and Edmonton. The Calgary headquarters failed in 1893 and Edmonton branch manager C.W. Mathers purchased his part of the business.
