    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: A prolific late Victorian-era author, Buel's photographic work in BC is documented in his book America's Wonderlands. He states that he travelled west in 1890 in a special railway car equipped for photographic work (p. 11-15). He then travelled by steamer from Victoria to Alaska, departing Victoria on 2 May 1890 on the Queen (p. 223+). He returned to Victoria on 15 May and made a week-long side trip on the CPR up the Fraser River (p. 235+). He then returned to Seattle, WA.
