    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: A civil engineer and surveyor by trade, he spent four years travelling and working at his profession in the Yukon Territory during the Klondike Gold Rush. He returned to Tacoma in 1900, and was later mayor of Steilacoom.
