The studio was known as Boorne and May and branches were established at Banff and Edmonton. The Calgary headquarters failed in 1893 and Edmonton branch manager C.W. Mathers purchased his part of the business. Boorne moved to Vancouver and was listed as a photographer for one year. The following year his occupation was given as secretary to the B.C. Exploration and Concession Company. Boorne visited Victoria and Vancouver in May 1890 to cover the visit of the Duke and Duchess of Connaught.
