    • STATUS: Amateur.
    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: A print in the BC Archives shows HMS Amphion in drydock. He may have photographed the vessel as part of his work for the Albion Iron Works. Although this may or may not be the same person aged 85 who died in Victoria in 1953, who would have been 20 at the time the photo was taken, according to his death registration record, the 86 year-old Cartmel had last worked for the Royal Canadian Navy at Esquimalt as an "assistant in Engineer's Department."
