    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: Winter's first partnership in Juneau was with G.M. Landerkin as Landerkin and Winter and lasted from 1891 to 1893. Winter and Pond, founded in 1893 with E.P. Pond, remained in business for a half century. Winter covered the Klondike Gold Rush in 1898 as a contract photographer for the stereograph publisher Underwood and Underwood and the magazine Leslie's Weekly.
