    The Green Brothers had acquired Frederick Dally's photographs in September 1870 and this was their first ad in which they represented the images as their own. This ad was still running in Feb 1871. The same ad was published in the Victoria Daily Standard newspaper.

    Since the Green Brothers acquired Frederick Dally's stock, it is not surprising that the "N.B." note at the bottom almost entirely matches the wording on one of Dally's imprints (Dally, BC Archives, Visual Records catalogue no.     • STATUS: Commercial.
    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: He was a partner-manager with brother George R. in the Green Brothers studio, then briefly managed the studio solo in 1872 under the name Fort Street Gallery. The remainder of his career was spent as an accountant, a real estate agent and a clerk for private and government entities. In 1903 he was listed as a canvasser for photographer P.T. Timms' brother G.F. Timms who was a printer. Green was a lieutenant and then a captain in a Victoria militia unit in the early to mid-1880s while still in Victoria. He moved to Vancouver in the late 1880s and spent the rest of his life there. He was married twice in 1877 and 1911.
