  • Notes
    • STATUS: Commercial.
    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: He worked as a photographer in Victoria in 1913. He abandoned his Canadian past and re-established himself in Seattle, WA, where he worked as a ship fitter when he registered for the USA World War One draft in 1918. He indicated on his registration card he was "native born" (born in the USA). He subsequently moved to Long Beach, CA, and when he registered for the USA World War Two draft in 1942 he claimed he had been born in Madison, WI. In both instances his second wife's first name of Nettie appears on the draft registration cards. His signatures on the 1918 and 1942 cards also closely match his signature on his 1913 marriage registration record.
He applied for US Social Security on 24 Apr 1946 (SSN 562038406).
His wife Nettie Deane Cannell predeceased him on 17 Jun 1959 in Los Angeles, CA. Her death registration record states she resided in Long Beach, CA, and that her husband was an invalid. Her birth place was Kentucky, which agrees with her 1913 marriage registration record, but her age, 92, and birth date, 8 Jun 1867, differ from that 1913 record.
