    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: A grandson of Hannah and Richard Maynard, his mother Emma Jane Maynard married James Forbes Macdonald in Victoria on 25 Jan 1879. In Jun 1892 she filed for divorce but claimed she had been married in Jun 1880. Sadly, she died by drowning in Seattle's Lake Washington in what was speculated to be a murder-suicide (Seattle Post-Intelligencer, 22 Jul 1893, p. 8, "Secret of the Water". Maynard came to live with his photographer grandparents and appears in some of the trick photographs by his grandmother.
      In the 1911 Canada census his occuapation is as a theatre electrician. The census states he had immigrated in 1896 and gives his birth date incorrectly as Mar 1886.
      He worked from about 1920 as a motion picture theatre projectionist.
      Around 1934-1935 he operated a photo supply business, M.F. Macdonald and Son, with his son G.G. Macdonald.
