    • STATUS: Amateur.
    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: Known with her husband Walter Alfred Don Munday as an intrepid mountaineer and co-discoverer of Mount Waddington in 1928 (originally known as Mystery Mountain), Phyllis was also active in the Girl Guides movement from her youth in Canada. Named to the Order of Canada in 1972, Canada Post issued a commemorative stamp honouring her life and achievements in 1998 as part of its "Legendary Canadians" serires.
