    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: Before he immigrated in 1910 with his brother Arnold he was a photographer's apprentice in 1901 in Bramley, Yorkshire, Eng. In Feb 1907 he copyrighted in the UK a head and shoulders portrait of a Rev. A. Henderson (UK National Archives, COPY 1/506/234; original registration no. 39457).

      The Lake Country Museum and Archives preserves photographs he took in 1911 for John Stokes in Oyama, BC. In Vancouver, Schofield was a photographer for F.L. Hacking in 1912. When he enlisted in Sep 1914 to serve in the Canadian Expeditionary Force he gave his occupation as photographer. In Dec 1914 he was discharged from the CEF and transferred to the British "New Army." In Feb 1917 he was appointed a lieutenant in the British Army. He remained in Great Britain following World War One. In 1930, according to Google Patents, he invented an "apparatus for use in playing a table-game simulating golf".
