  • Notes
    • STATUS: Commercial.
    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: The 1911 Canada census gives his birth date as Jun 1874, with an immigration year of 1907. The 1916 Manitoba census gives his age as 40 and his immigration year as 1908. He immigrated from England, according to the 1921 Canada census, in 1907; that census gave his age as 46. He was working as a photographer in Brandon, MB. A secondary source has him in Brandon as a photographer from 1913 to 1925, the latter year a mistake since he was listed in a business directory as being in Vernon in 1924. Working in Vernon in the mid-1920s, he was married to Annie Malinda Salt. Their daughter Alma Millicent Salt married the widowed Vancouver photographer Frank Henry Gowen, who was 29 years older, in 1935.
