    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: An assistant to Benjamin Baltzly on the Geological Survey of Canada expedition, he became a landscape artist who secured commissions from Canadian Pacific Railway President Van Horne. Hammond began work with the Notman studio in Montreal in Aug 1870. A more detailed summary of his career can be found in Render (1974).
