    • While there is no question this is the same Thomas Walters, there is some contradictory information on his marriage registration record: he gave his residence as Chellwood, SK, and his occupation as a farmer. His bride was also from Chellwood. His age and birthplace match what is known from his Canadian Expeditionary Force personnel file.

Their son, who provided the information, gave his father's name as Thomas Mather Walters; BC Archives death registration no. 1953-09-005104.

  • Notes
    • STATUS: Commercial.
    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: While he enlisted and was discharged twice with the Canadian Expeditionary Force, the information in his personnel file (regimental no. 645886) is contradictory regarding the dates. He also served, according to his CEF personnel file, with the 2nd Cheshire Regiment between May 1883 and Oct 1890 and was in India with that unit around 1889 when he suffered a sunstroke which impacted his Canadian military service.
He lived in Delta and later North Vancouver. He was listed as a photographer in the 1914 through 1922 Vancouver business directories. He moved from being a photographer to a zoo attendant at Stanley Park in Vancouver while still living in North Vancouver.
