    • STATUS: Amateur.
    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: He moved to BC with his family on 1 Jul 1873. Settling at first in the Comox area, he moved to Kingcome Inlet in 1893 and lived there until 1897 when he became assistant principal of the residential school at Alert Bay. He continued there until 1906 when he was appointed Indian Agent for the Kwakewlth Agency. He retired in 1932 to Victoria. His autobiography Potlatch and Totem (1935) recounts his experiences on the coast.
