    • STATUS: Commercial.
    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: He operated the Vancouver Photo Company (no relationship to the 19th century business operated by J.D. Hall and S. Lowe).
      During World War One, he enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force in Jun 1916 and in Sep 1916 was discharged to take a commission in the British Army. His wife at that point had moved from Vancouver to Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON.
      Back in England he was promoted to a second lieutenant in the Royal Flying Corps on 19 Oct 1916 (London Gazette, 21 Nov 1916, p. 11255-11256). His service record in the corps is held by the UK's National Archives. [9]
