    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: In the 1881 England Wales census he was enumerated as a female or daughter of Charles Ebenezer and Udrey Maria Blakeley Treffry). In the 1901 England and Wales census he was living in Ellesmere, Shropshire, Eng., UK, and employed in the "learning land agency." While it's possible this is a different person, he immigrated via Saint John, NB, on the Empress of Ireland in March 1911, giving his final destination as Telkwa, BC, and his occupation as farmer. He was enumerated in the 1911 Canada census as a farmer or servant living in the south Bulkley Valley.

He was employed by the Dominion Photo Company in 1915 and then returned to England during World War One where he served as a second lieutenant in the 4th Battalion, Coldstream Guards. He was killed during the battle of the Somme in France where he is buried. According to one site, he had only joined the battalion on 2 Feb 1916; URL (accessed 30 Aug 2019): http://www.ww1wargraves.co.uk/ww1_cemeteries/ww1_cemetery_g.asp

His will was probated in England on 2 Jan 1917 and the beneficiary was Mrs. Vanda (or Vandah) Lysons, a sister. Dormer never married and had no children. [11, 12, 13, 14, 15]
