    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: The successor to F. Gowen Company Ltd., the Gowen Sutton Company was incorporated on 17 Mar 1920. Alfred James Sutton was a shareholder and active partner in both companies. Following the death of his wife in 1929, Gowen sold his shares to Sutton on 6 Feb 1930. The company continued to operate as the Gowen Sutton Company and was dissolved on 6 Oct 1987.
      The Gowen Sutton Company was one of the principal and most prolific postcard publishers in British Columbia. [14]
