    • STATUS: Commercial.
    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: His father, who bore the same name, according to his 1914 marriage registration record, was also a photographer. When the son immigrated in Aug 1911 at age 21 from England, he gave his occupation before and after immigration as dentist. Before first appearing as a photographer in 1914, S.L. Stevens worked in 1913 as a real estate agent for Western Canada Townsites which was selling land at a place called Fort or Port Salmon. The previous year he was living with his future mother-in-law. He was last listed as a photographer in Vancouver, BC, in 1918.
      He appears to have moved to Seattle, WA, in 1924. He registered for the United States military draft in 1942 and was self-employed, living in Salem, OR. He died in Oregon in 1979. [17, 18]
