    STATUS: Retoucher.

    BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: Described as "an experienced retoucher from the first San Francisco galleries," he worked for S.A. Spencer in the Theatre Photographic Gallery. He replaced R.A. Desmond who had gone to work for Noah Shakespeare.

    He may be the Hiram Miller identified by Mautz (1997) as working for Bradley and Rulofson in 1871, and later active in Woodland, CA, in 1883.
